In 2003, Calgreg recognized the need for an improved mechanical attach system for heat sinks and developed an innovative method of attaching a heat sink to a BGA chip - the Smart-CLIP™. Calgreg Thermal Solutions was formed in 2004 to market the Smart-CLIP™ products. In 2007 the company was expanded to include an operation in Taiwan through a joint venture partnership and expanded the product line to include a full line of precision forged heat sinks and heat pipes.
