Xicato Unveils New High-Density Light Sources

XOB Light Sources Hit “Sweet Spot” of Market for Differentiated General Lighting Applications

San Jose, Ca — June 25, 2019 — Xicato, the leading provider of highest quality light sources and smart building wireless controls, today announced the XOB (Xicato on Board) a new category of high density light sources, expanding its world renowned portfolio of LED light sources, all at the same matching Xicato color point. Offered in industry standard sizes and form factors, ranging from 6mm to 32.8mm and, through tightly controlled color matching of 1×2 SDCM (Standard Deviation Color Matching), the XOB provides lighting professionals with more options and opportunities for additional differentiation in virtually all of their end markets including retail, hospitality, office, residential, heritage, healthcare, and education.

“Lumenpulse Alphaled and Xicato have been working together for over 10 years and we have combined forces to produce over 1.4 million fixtures. We are very excited to extend our Alphaled brand with Xicato’s new XOB!,” noted Yanitza Navia, Managing Director, Alphaled.

Lighting the world’s most productive workspaces, popular retail environments, hospitality, and historic cathedrals and museums increasingly poses challenges to lighting professionals who strive to be distinct while remaining competitive. For over ten years, they’ve looked to Xicato as the premium light source provider with unmatched color rendering and consistency serving those who refuse to sacrifice quality. The introduction of XOB extends that same Xicato quality to the most reliable high-density LED array on the market, enabling easy design-in, fast time to revenue, and the richest color spectrum for any application.

“The building market is going through a revolution, both in terms of intelligence and quality of the environment inside. Dedicated to be a leading innovator in this space, this is the first of many new areas of strategic focus as Xicato commits to being a full solution provider,” said Amir Zoufonoun, Chief Executive Officer at Xicato. “With XOB we’re making Xicato quality accessible for any type of installation by combining our innovative technology with disruptive price-to-performance characteristics, thereby enabling our customers and partners to win more often through differentiation.”

XOB is offered in a variety of LES and package options to enable fixture designs ranging from very narrow beams below 10 degrees to very high brightness above 10,000 lumens:

  • 6mm, 9.8mm, 14.5mm, 23mm, and 32.8mm sizes for indoor and outdoor applications
  • Xicato color points from 2700K to 4000K with 1×2 SDCM harmonized with the rest of Xicato portfolio
  • Minimum 80, 90 and 95 CRI options
  • Xicato’s renowned performance, quality and warranty

Fixture designers and specifiers haven’t wasted anytime designing in Xicato’s XOB. Beside Lumenpulse Alphaled, Mike Stoane Lighting, Proliad and Berla are amongst the first to offer fixtures with XOB.

Dave Hollingsbee of Mike Stoane Lighting in London recently previewed their new ZETA luminaire range with XOB, “The universal nature of our extrusion allows for a wide integration of light engines. XOB is the perfect light source for the ZETA Range since it works with our large ecosystem of optics and accessories and looks amazing.”

Proliad LED in the Netherlands realizes the versatility XOB brings to market, “We can place XOB in any fixture, including outdoor. There is a ton of light output from such a small LES and with a narrow beam angle, it is competitive and cost effective; we’ll be able to quickly build on demand,” claims Wouter Verhoeven, title. Proliad has track and outdoor lights with XOB ready for order.

Berla Lighting will have multiple fixtures that include the new XOB, “We love that we have the same Xicato quality now in an LES array that gives us more options. We have designed it into three fixtures already, all available in September,” shares Johan Lambooij, lead technician at Berla.

Availability

XOB is immediately available in 6 and 9.8mm LES packages, each in 90 and 95 CRI. Color temperatures include 2700K to 4000K, with 1×2 SDCM color matching. Products can be purchased at store.xicato.com. Other LES packages such as 14.5mm, 23mm, and 32.8mm packages will be shipping in Fall 2019.
